Jonathan Schey’s Everybody Wants to Fuck Me is a sharp, twisted, and wildly entertaining satire of modern dating and the performative men who dominate it. Taron Egerton is fantastic as Adam, a self-proclaimed feminist who treats women as sexual objects until he suddenly becomes the object of everyone’s desire. What begins as his ultimate fantasy quickly becomes a chaotic horror nightmare, allowing Schey to blend dark comedy, romance, gore, and social commentary into one wonderfully absurd package. While the film’s messaging occasionally stumbles, particularly in how it handles Adam’s punishment, Schey delivers an incredibly confident debut with a distinct voice, plenty of ambition, and an absolutely perfect title.
